Cleveland Browns are coming out of their bye week the exact way they had hoped in terms of their overall health. Every player that is on the active roster practiced on Wednesday and the Browns are as healthy as they could hope outside of players on the injured reserve.
Injuries have hit the Browns hard once again this season. We’ve seen quarterback Deshaun Watson go down and numerous other injuries to key players. One key player that has missed extended time is linebacker Jordan Hicks, who the Browns signed as a free agent last offseason.
Hicks has played in just five games this season and has not played since Oct. 20 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hicks is now healthy and will return in Week 11 against the New Orleans Saints, which is needed badly with Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah on the IR with a neck injury.
Something that was not known before today to the public is that Hicks was hospitalized earlier in the season for two days.
“During the Raiders game I had an infection in my elbow, I actually checked into the hospital after the Giants game for two days,” Hicks told reporters. “I ended up playing the Raiders game and the same elbow, same triceps, tore it … Strained it I guess.”

Hicks has made 24 tackles and a sack so far this season for Jim Schwartz’s defense that has been a middle-of-the-pack unit this season. The veteran linebacker will be out there with Mohamoud Diabate on Sunday, who is stepping up for JOK in his absence.
A bit of a scary development for Hicks, who has been a solid addition when he is on the field. His hospital stay is an example of how sometimes the general public doesn’t really know the extent of some injuries that come with the violent sport of football.
