Defensive tackle Keeanu Benton suffered his second injury of the month for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as the young starter was limited in practice on Thursday by a hip ailment.
It’s unclear when or how Benton suffered the hip injury, or whether it will impact his status for Sunday’s Week 13 AFC North road game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Benton had just returned from a left knee suffered against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11. He left that game late in the second half and did not return. Benton was limited in the week leading up to the Week 12 game against the Cleveland Browns, but was able to play a near-full workload. He played in 28 defensive snaps, recording one tackle and one quarterback hit.
It’s unknown if Benton’s hip injury is on the same side or the opposite side of that left knee injury. NFL teams are not required to report the sides of injuries except for quarterbacks and kickers.
