The Sacramento Kings have already made multiple additions to their roster this offseason as they look to chase a playoff spot next season but more moves could be on the way.
Of course, the Kings elected to keep their core of Domantas Sabonis, DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine together heading into next season despite many around the NBA expecting them to begin a rebuild after missing the playoffs last season.

Sacramento also added Nique Clifford and Maxime Raynaud in the 2025 draft and they also signed Dennis Schroder in free agency to fill their void at the starting point guard position after trading De’Aaron Fox last season.
The Kings have also been linked to many other players around the NBA, including Jonathan Kuminga.

For the Kings to land Kuminga, they will have to pull off a sign-and-trade with the Golden State Warriors and with the Warriors’ high asking price for their young forward, the two sides have not come close to reaching a deal.
While the Kings have shown interest in Kuminga, Sports Illustrated’s Will Zimmerle recently urged them to pursue Josh Giddey of the Chicago Bulls as he is a much better fit.

“Giddey also brings arguably more to the court than Kuminga does. He doesn’t have the same raw scoring potential as Kuminga, but his combination of rebounding, facilitating, and improved three-point shooter make him a much more balanced player,” Zimmerle wrote. “He’s also four days younger than Kuminga, which is no small feat, especially with how much Kuminga’s age and youth is talked about compared to his potential.”
Zimmerle makes a great point about how Giddey’s combination of skills is a much better fit than those of Kuminga, though it has been reported that the Bulls are looking to bring him back next season despite failing to meet his contract demands.
Despite this, the Bulls could end up moving on from Giddey at some point before the season if the two sides are unable to agree on a long-term deal and if that happens, Sacramento could show interest.

Of course, the Kings already added Schroder to their roster to be their new starting point guard but adding Giddey would allow them to either being Schroder off the bench or have Giddey play a forward position.
Either way, the 22-year-old would give the Kings a versatile player that is a great scorer, rebounder and playmaker that would help them fill some noticeable holes in their lineup.
