Minnesota Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has a multitude of directions he can go when it comes to the NFL Draft. His work in free agency has given Adofo-Mensah the much-needed flexibility to go in any direction he wants come April's annual selection meeting.
Even so, the Vikings do have some needs long-term that are bigger than others. The defense was the oldest unit in the National Football League last season and the Vikings just brought in two defensive tackles that are over the age of 30.
Vikings go DT in latest mock draft
With the age of the defensive line being an issue, the Vikings could take the position at the beginning of the NFL Draft. That's exactly what our own Adam Holt at A to Z Sports has the Vikings doing in defensive tackle Derrick Harmon.
I actually like this board quite a bit for Minnesota. Could go with some offensive line help or a defensive back. Ultimately, Harmon's potential as a game-wrecker inside for Brian Flores spoke too strongly to me.
Harmon has been a popular pick for the Vikings in mock drafts over the first 10 weeks of the 2025 calendar year, having been selected 32 times out of 321 mock drafts, the second most of any prospect behind just Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron with 37.
The Vikings already have a top 30 visit scheduled with Harmon, which likely sends a signal about how they fee about him. My scouting report on Harmon spoke glowingly about his ability.
Harmon is a talented, versatile player who can do a little bit of everything for you. There are some issues to work through, including getting into a little bit better shape. However, the versatility would be a massive factor in the Vikings being interested.
They need an interior pass rusher, and Harmon's ability to play all across the line would maximize Brian Flores's use of his defensive line.
If the Vikings ended up with Harmon, it would be a net benefit for them long-term, especially with how Brian Flores calls the defense.
