Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky are going on another year of separation, but getting a divorce is not part of the conversation just yet. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills couple have been separated since the summer of 2023, but they have "not talked" about getting a divorce, according to Kyle.

The mom of four appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Dec. 17, where she opened up about why they haven't had that conversation. "It just hasn't come up yet," she admitted, as seen in the video above.

"You know, we're good friends, and we get along really well, and I don't know, we just live separate lives and it just hasn't come up yet," she continued. "When the time comes, we will address it."

Kyle also admitted to WWHL host, Andy Cohen, that she's "not psyched" to have that conversation with her husband of more than two decades. "It's hard, and it's not something either one of us feel comfortable initiating, we just kind of let it go and just really good friends, and we care about each other, and we get along, so it's like, it is what it is right now," she concluded.

Kyle Richards says she's "not ready" to approach divorce with Mauricio

During RHOBH Season 14, Episode 2, Kyle had a conversation with her fellow cast member Sutton Stracke, who urged Kyle to file for divorce. But during The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, Kyle revealed why she didn't take Sutton's advice. "At the end of the day, I have to do what feels right for me," she said. "And I did not feel ready to go do that, and I'll know when it's time to do that."

She continued, noting that her situation is different from Sutton's divorce from her ex-husband. "People don't know our relationship, and I trust him," she said. "And I know, for women who have been burned, they're coming from a place of, 'I don't want what happened to you to happen to me.' While I appreciate it, my situation's, you know — I have to live for what I'm going through and not take on all of that, too."

Sutton then explained on the RHOBH After Show that she advised Kyle to file so she could get ahead of Mauricio. "I got a bit bamboozled with my ex-husband," she said. "So, I wanted to impart my wisdom to my friend who I'm seeing go through this very strange separation, in my eyes, and I want to tell her, 'Look, just file.' I want her to do it first before he does it to her."

How often does Kyle Richards talk to Mauricio Umansky?

Although Kyle and Mauricio currently live apart, she revealed on WWHL that they talk frequently. She told Andy that they are "texting" one another, almost daily, but "pretty much" every couple of days, and they speak on the phone "maybe a couple of times a week."

Kyle also admitted that she hasn't been to Mauricio's new apartment since he moved into his new place earlier this year. "It just hasn't worked out because of my schedule and traveling and his schedule," she said.
