Richards, 55, was crowned Us Weekly’s Reality Star of the Year earlier this month, so it was only fitting that she reflected on her legacy ahead of the Us Weekly and Pluto TV Reality Stars of the Year party in Los Angeles on October 10.

The Bravolebrity got off to a strong start during season 1 of RHOBH in 2010 when she uttered the now-famous line, “You’re such a f—ing liar, Camille” to Camille Grammer.

“People will come up to me on the street and ask me to leave that on their friend’s voicemail. So, I’m like, ‘Sure, no problem. You’re such a f—ing liar, Camille!’” Richards quipped to Us, noting that she doesn’t fully understand fans’ obsession with the tense moment. “She was lying. Who do people think this is so amazing? To this day, I’m like, ‘I don’t get it, but OK.’”

The one-liner has taken on a life of its own and has been printed on mugs, T-shirts and candles.

“I actually have it on a dish towel in my kitchen that someone sent me,” Richards shared. “Camille was coming over to my house, and I was like, ‘Oh, maybe I should hide this dish towel.’’”

The other RHOBH quote that fans recite to Richards all the time was said to her, not by her. During season 9, Lisa Vanderpump’s husband, Ken Todd, emphatically said, “Goodbye, Kyle!” while walking up the stairs after Richards and Vanderpump, 64, had an explosive fight over allegations that Vanderpump planted a story about Dorit Kemsley.

“Thank you, Ken Todd, for that line because I will be walking down the street in New York City and people will, like, yell out of their taxi, ‘Goodbye, Kyle,’” Richards told Us.

Vanderpump and Richards’ long friendship didn’t survive the fight, but even when they were still on good terms, Richards memorably shared some insight into their dynamic during the RHOBH season 2 reunion.

“Being in a friendship with you is like playing chess with Bobby Fischer,” Richards said. “Every move is so calculated.”

The comment offended Vanderpump, but Richards stands by it.

“The most accurate thing I’ve ever said,” Richards told Us. “That’s the truth. … It was a compliment, darling.”

Another one of Richards’ most-talked about RHOBH scenes was not about what she said, but what she did. Everyone was on edge when Lisa Rinna and Kyle’s sister Kim Richards got into a screaming match during a season 5 group dinner in Amsterdam; however, Kyle was the sole person to simply run out the door after Rinna, 61, poured a drink on Kim, 60, and smashed the glass on the table.

“So many people have asked me about running away in Amsterdam, and it really does sum up who I am in a nutshell,” Kyle told Us with a laugh. “Since [I was] a little girl, when there’s confrontations or something scares me, I run and I hide. In that moment, I was a little girl, honestly. I just became afraid and I just took off. I don’t even know what the thought process was. I saw them stand up, I got scared, I flee.”

Kyle can be confrontational when she needs to be, though.

“You wanna get a Manolo in your eyeball?” she asked an intoxicated party crasher who tried to get handsy with her husband, Mauricio Umansky, at her annual white party during season 1. (Richards and Umansky, 54, separated in 2023 after 27 years of marriage.)

“I will actually kill you, and I will stick a Manolo in your eyeball. Get out of my house,” Kyle recalled to Us. “That was the best satisfaction, walking her out. And I waited until she got to the end of the street.”
