Everyone wants to know whether the Los Angeles Lakers all-time great is going to retire.

James recently spelled it out pretty distinctly in an interview with ESPN.

He was asked about his kids, and he shared a cool thought.

"They're like, 'Dad, continue on your dream. This is your dream. Continue on your focus. You've been here for us this whole time," James told ESPN. "When you have that type of support... it makes it a lot easier."

Sure sounds like The King will be back for another NBA season, in which he'll turn 41 in December.

At this point, the biggest suspense might be how LeBron decides to go about it.

He has a $56.2 million player option for the 2025-26 season that he still has to officially opt-in or opt-out of. If he opts in, he plays the season for the Lakers under that one-year arrangement. If he opts out, he's technically a free agent but could also sign back with the Lakers on a slightly longer deal.

There hasn't been any recent buzz that James could leave Los Angeles after there was plenty of early speculation about that.

It seems like he'd want to stay in L.A. if for no other reason than to keep playing with his son Bronny, at least for another year.

The end is closer than the beginning for LeBron, but he's incredible, and if he wants to keep hooping for a while, it sure seems like he'll be able to.
