The NBA trade deadline has claimed many players over the years. Trades involving all-time talents like Luka Doncic and Kevin Durant have proven that no one is safe. However, there is at least one man who constantly finds his name thrown around in trade rumors and manages to come out the other end unscathed with regularity. His name is Myles Turner.
The Indiana Pacers center has now spent 10 seasons with the organization. The reason that should be considered a genuine feat would be the fact that Turner is caught up in trade rumors in what feels like every single season. In particular, the two-time blocks champion makes a regular appearance in the Lakers' rumor mill.
Turner pokes fun at being a survivor
The Turner rumors started up again during the 2024-25 NBA season when it was suggested that the Pacers were weighing whether or not they wanted to pay up in the upcoming offseason for the two-way center. The thought that Indiana would entertain trades as a result started gaining some serious traction in the NBA community.
There was even a time when Lakers insider Jovan Buha suggested that Los Angeles should part with both of their first-round pick (2029 and 2031) at the time to acquire Turner. However, with the NBA trade deadline having officially passed, Turner is safe to continue his life in Indiana yet again.
When the clock was ticking down on this year's window to trade players, the Pacers big man could not resist poking fun at the situation.
The 2024-25 NBA season was not the one to feature Turner finding a new home in Los Angeles. However, like clockwork, it should take a bit under a year for those rumors to start resurfacing again as a part of everyone's regularly-scheduled programming.
