Lala Kent Says Friendship With Katie Maloney Is Done After Pump Rules Reunion

A lot of what is going on with the Vanderpump Rules cast hints at finality with the show. If it wasn’t the themes of closure given at the Season 11 reunion, then Scheana Shay and Lala Kent filming for The Valley might be. Not only that, but friendships are running their course, as is between Lala and Katie Maloney.

Lala Kent is done with Katie Maloney.

The duo brought their issues with each other to the reunion. But they have not resolved anything since then, and the Give Them Lala podcast host believes the friendship is over.

Lala thought the friendship was “on point” in Season 10

The VPR star reflected on her working relationships during the August 21 episode of her podcast. Lala admitted to being still “very fond” of Katie, but doesn’t see how they can move forward.

“They all have a really special place in my heart. I had a really fun time with Ariana [Madix] when I first was on the show. Katie, my friendship with her [during] season 10, I thought that that friendship was really on point,” she shared. “When I think back, I’m like, ‘Wow, even though it was a hard time in my life, that friendship really got me through a tough time in my life.’”

The drama was building throughout Season 11. Katie’s unwavering loyalty to Ariana caused conflict when Lala questioned why the Love Island USA host couldn’t compromise on filming with Tom Sandoval, among other issues.

Lala suggested that she and Katie are “in different stages”

“Katie and I were very close. I don’t think now we have anything in common and that’s OK,” Lala stated. “I don’t even know what we would talk about [now]. We’re just in such different places and I think that friendship was meant to be the way it was for the time being.”

She continued, “I think that that’s totally OK. I have nothing but fond memories of that friendship. I have nothing but fond memories of the friendship I had with Ariana and Doute. But people change and move on.”

Perhaps there is something to be said about them being in different stages of their lives. Lala suggested that the friendship simply “ran its course,” and nothing more.

“There’s not a lot to talk about anymore — and we’re just in different stages of life,” she mused. “So no matter why we fell off, I don’t really give a s—t. What I do know is the time that we had together, I really enjoyed. And I wish them all the best.”
