A couple of key coaching moves occurred as Conference Championship games played out this past weekend. For New Orleans, they had direct impacts to their staff from this past season.
Dennis Allen joins Chicago Bears
The former Saints defensive coordinator and head coach heads to another NFC team as their DC. According to sources, he is joining Ben Johnson's new staff.
Allen was fired in early November amid a seven-game losing skid for the Saints. Darren Rizzi was elevated to interim head coach and remains a candidate for their opening now.
Klint Kubiak becomes Seahawks OC
Kubiak was with New Orleans for just one season. It was fairly obvious he would move on once Allen was fired, though. That's just normally how it goes with staffs in the NFL.
This will be his third stint as an NFL OC. The Seahawks fired Ryann Grubb earlier in the offseason after just one season with the team.
Saints will play versus both in 2025
For New Orleans, they'll get a quick opportunity for revenge on both coaches. Fans will certainly be rooting quite hard for them to beat Allen, who proved to be a mistake of a choice to follow Sean Payton as New Orleans' HC.
The Saints will get a chance to beat both the Seahawks and Bears with a new head coach and offensive coordinator in 2025.
