Shemar Stewart met the most important man in the Bengals building on Friday. Joe Burrow introduced himself like any old interaction to Stewart when the rookie entered Paycor Stadium.
Stewart is ready to go make plays for his quarterback.
"I met some guy named Joe in the locker room. He came up to me, like, 'Hi, my name is Joe. How you doing? I don't know you,'" Stewart said to the media about their first meeting. "He said, 'Happy you're here, let's go get some sacks.'"
The former Texas A&M star is also happy to reunite with his former defensive teammate McKinnley Jackson.
The two were teammates in Texas during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Now, they can pair back up to keep wreaking havoc at a whole new football level. Stewart said fans will see a "very fast, very violent, and very physical player with a high motor" this fall.
"My former teammate, Mac, we talked a lot," Stewart noted about his first day in the building. "He always says the work's not done yet."
