Victor Hedman and Team Sweden played their final game of the 4 Nations Face-Off on Feb. 17 against Team USA. They certainly went out on a positive note, defeating Team USA by a 2-1 final score.
Team USA is now set to face off against Team Canada on Feb. 20 in the 4 Nations Face-Off final. When the Tampa Bay Lightning captain was asked who he thought would win, he gave plenty of thought before choosing Team Canada.
"That's a tough one," Hedman said. "You know, I got Haggy [Brandon Hagel], I got a lot of guys on Team Canada. I got Guentz [Jake Guentzel] on team US. So, I can't really pick a winner... But looking at it, US on home ice, but I think Canada gets their revenge."
Team USA defeated Team Canada by a 3-1 final score during their first epic matchup of the tournament on Feb. 17.
Team USA is dealing with several injuries, which could make things more difficult if multiple players cannot play. Auston Matthews, Matthew Tkachuk, and Charlie McAvoy were sidelined against Team Sweden due to injury. Brady Tkachuk also left the game against Sweden with an injury. Vincent Trocheck also briefly left the game after suffering an injury but returned.
It will be intriguing to see if the Lightning captain's prediction about Team Canada defeating Team USA comes true from here. However, what all hockey fans know is that it is going to be an incredible contest.
