Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams has significantly upped his production this season for coach Dan Campbell's team amid a potential Super Bowl run that has united the city of Detroit behind the National Football League team.
Williams has 34 receptions for 630 yards so far this season, 10 more receptions than last season's team with four touchdowns compared to two scores last season.
Williams and the Lions are facing challenges on the injury front heading into their much-anticipated duel with Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers this week, heightening expectations for each individual player.
On Tuesday, a Detroit Lions assistant coach shared practice intel on both cornerback Terrion Arnold and Williams regarding a potential new role on the team that could make waves in the coming weeks.
"#Lions special teams coordinator Dave Fipp say(s) CB Terrion Arnold and WR Jameson Williams are two guys who are consistently asking to do punt returns for Detroit," Lions beat writer Nolan Bianchi said on his X account.
The Lions currently rank first in the NFL in punt return yards with 447 on 33 attempts so far this year.
