Lions fans overwhelmingly believe team will repeat as NFC North champs

In this week's SB Nation Reacts survey, we asked Detroit Lions fans two questions:

1. Are you confident the Lions are headed in the right direction?
2. Will the Lions repeat as NFC North champs?

Last year, the Lions fans finished the season with 98% believing the organization was headed in the right direction. After another productive offseason, Lions fans' confidence remains high to start the 2024 season, as 99% of fans believe they're still on the right path.

Equally as impressive, Lions fans are also highly confident in Detroit’s chances in the NFC North, as 95% of fans believe they will repeat division champions. Four percent of fans think the Packers could be a threat, while there is a small faction of Bears believers that are expecting instant results, and no one is buying into a J.J. McCarthy-less Vikings team.

The folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook are siding with Lions fans and have set the betting lines for winning the NFC North at Lions +125 (the favorites), Packers +210, Bears +320, and Vikings +850.

To get a closer look into the minds of Lions fans, here are a few of the explanations from the comment section of the original article, lightly edited for clarity:

• Hooligan082: “Remember when Brad said this wasn’t some miracle, lucky, one-in-a-million run that the team stumbled into? The program is built for success both now and in the future. Lions win the North again, it’s just going to be closer than last year because the other teams got better.”
• Presde34: “I say yes and Lions repeat as champs because this team is returning all their key pieces while upgrading areas of weaknesses. However, we must be wary of other teams running for us. I think this is the year we finally bring home the Lombardi because all the pieces seem to be put in place. Praying for good Injury luck.”
