Injuries have been a big story for the Detroit Lions throughout the 2024 season.
They have spent most of the season without Aidan Hutchinson and have had a consistent flow of player joining him on the injured list throughout the year.
For a second, it seemed like the Lions' injury luck might be starting to change this week when it was confirmed that David Montgomery would be returning for the Divisional Round matchup against the Washington Commanders.
Unfortunately, the Lions have now once again been hit with bad injury news.
On the January 16 injury report, the team revealed that right guard Kevin Zeitler would be missing the game against the Commanders.

The Lions signed Zeitler to a one-year deal this past offseason to replace Jonah Jackson on their offseason line after he left to join he Rams.
Zeitler had just earned his first Pro Bowl nod as a member of the Baltimore Ravens in 2023.
It's a move that has paid off for them throughout the year.
Zeitler started 16 regular season games for the Lions and helped them once again have one of the strongest offensive lines in football.
In his absence, the Lions will turn to Christian Mahogany. The Lions drafted Mahogany in the 6th round in the most recent NFL Draft.
He has played just 75 career snaps, with only eight of those coming at right guard.
The Lions will need a strong performance from the rookie in his second career start in a matchup that may require their offense to score regularly to come away with a win.
