The players on the Detroit Lions‘ team are beloved in the Motor City, but unless they’re a really big name, those players are often not as known outside of Michigan. Jared Goff is pretty much the only Lions player that everyone knows throughout the country, and part of that is because he was with Los Angeles before coming to Detroit. That’s about to change, though, because one Detroit Lions favorite just signed a deal that’s going to pretty much make him a household name.
The Lions are one of the strongest teams in the NFL going into the 2025-26 season, and that’s a great thing. But, they don’t have some of the more famous players on their roster, like Travis Kelce or Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Now, Kelce and Mahomes better watch their backs heading into the new season, because Lions favorite Amon-Ra St. Brown has signed a national endorsement deal with General Mills that will get him a lot of exposure.
Inside Lions Star’s New Deal
St. Brown is going to be having breakfast with millions of Americans soon, in a sense. On Wednesday, July 16, the Detroit Free Press shared an image showing what St. Brown’s endorsement deal with General Mills will look like when it hits stores this fall. A post on X shows that St. Brown will be featured on the front of boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios. He’ll be pictured with his famous headstand pose, too.
It’s going to be exciting to be able to walk into a grocery store and buy a cereal box with St. Brown on the cover. Those who want to buy a few boxes will be able to soon, because according to ABC 7 Detroit, the boxes with St. Brown will be available starting in August nationwide.
It’s great to see St. Brown get this honor. He deserves it and often goes underrated. During his time in the NFL, St. Brown has notched 430 receptions for 4,851 yards and 33 touchdown catches.
Lions Wide Receiver is One of the Best in the NFL
ESPN is noticing St. Brown’s talent. It should come as no surprise that St. Brown makes their tally of the best wide receivers in the league heading into the 2025-26 season, coming in at No. 6. The honor comes from executives, coaches and scouts in the NFL.
In the piece, published on Wednesday, July 16, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN notes, “St. Brown, who famously watched 16 receivers get drafted ahead of him in 2021, is the NFL’s only player with 100 receptions and 10 receiving touchdowns in each of the past two seasons.”
One NFC executive said of St. Brown, “He doesn’t have the size, but he has these high-level traits: Feet, hands, instincts, run-after-catch, competitive toughness.”
Similarly, one NFL coordinator added that he “has elite football instincts for the position” and understands how to attack leverage.” St. Brown also, according to this coordinator, “runs hard every play. Plays inside and outside. Makes all the tough catches on high-leverage downs. Blocks, plays physical. The only thing he doesn’t do is win outside the red line [close to the sideline], but that’s not how the game works anyways.”
It’s about time St. Brown gets respect in the league. He’s also about to get pretty famous with the cereal box deal.
