Lions superstar offers yet another cliché Eagles Week 1 call out

"To be the man, you gotta beat the man"! As much as I've always loved that phrase, I can't take credit for it. That would be plagiarism. I'm pretty certain the first time I heard it, Ric Flair said it. I would have rather heard it from Buddy Ryan. Dang, I thought at least one of his Philadelphia Eagles teams would have won a Super Bowl. But, even still, I just wanted to let you know how much punch I thought the phrase held.

Lions superstar offers yet another cliché Eagles Week 1 call out

That being said, if you, not the 16-time world champion, are the true author of this great phrase, I apologize, but let's give it to Ric though. It loses it's zing without the 'styling and profiling'. What in the heck does this have to do with the Birds? I'm glad you asked. It appears one of the Detroit Lions' best players wants the smoke.

The Detroit Lions appear to have moved on from yet another season that ended in heartbreak. Well, at least one of them has. I don't know if you watch the LOL Network, but Kevin Hart does this thing where he asks guys to jump in a cold tub and hang out with him.

Recently, Amon-Ra St. Brown was the guest on his show.

St. Brown wants to be the man. That means he has to knock the champs off the mountaintop. Detroit is among Philly's 2025 opponents. Amon-Ra wants his shot in the Week 1 NFL opener.

We're not even mad at him. We get it. These types of cliche call-outs are common, especially early during the offseason. Philly is the hunted now, and they're going to get everyone's best shot on Sundays.

As far as the Lions are concerned,e're about to learn a lot about Dan Campbell. How good is he? How much of Detroit's success in 2024 was attributable to him? How much credit did Ben Johnson deserve?

Things ended with a thud to conclude the Lions' one-and-done playoff run. Will they get their chance to make a Week 1 statement? Only time will tell.
