Lions will hold onto young defensive lineman who showed some real promise in 2024

Way back in Week 4 of the 2024 season the Detroit Lions played the Seattle Seahawks at home on Monday Night Football. The Lions beat the heck out of the Seahawks in that game, but not everyone on the Seattle defense had a rough night. One player actually had a good game. Two tackles and a pressure on 20 snaps and a 74.4 Pro Football Focus grade.

That player was Myles Adams. The Lions must have been impressed with what they saw from him because the Lions went and poached him off the Seahawks practice squad after Thanksgiving and he was quietly pretty good for Detroit down the stretch.

The reason why it was so quiet is because the Lions didn't play him on a ton of snaps. He played 19 against the Packers in his debut and had a really good night in that one, but then he only played 36 snaps after that.

The sample size is small, but anytime he was on the field, he generated something. He had two pressures and a big important run stuff on Josh Jacobs against the Packers and then he had a pressure and a big important sack against the 49ers.

The Lions saw something there and because of that, they have brought him back on a one-year deal.

Adams is a guy who could go on to be a bigger part of the defense if he's able to shine at training camp. Working with Kacy Rodgers could definitely help him crack the rotation.
