Los Angeles Dodgers Continue To Struggle With 7th Straight Loss

The All-Star break cannot come soon enough for the Los Angeles Dodgers. With an 8-7 loss last night on the road against the San Francisco Giants, LA dropped its seventh consecutive game. It is the team’s longest losing streak since 2017 when they dropped 11 straight ballgames. The Dodgers would rebound that season by making the World Series, where they lost to the Houston Astros.

Los Angeles has dropped back-to-back three-game sets against the Houston Astros and Milwaukee Brewers. The Dodgers then lost the opening game of their series against the San Francisco Giants. Los Angeles has been outscored 52-17 over their last seven contests. Will the Los Angeles Dodgers get back on track?

Los Angeles Dodgers Season Summary

The Dodgers have seen their lead in the National League West shrink to 4 games because of their recent woes. Even with such a poor week, Los Angeles still has one of the league’s best offenses. They are fifth in the league in batting average, second in home runs, and leading the league in runs scored. Designated Hitter Shohei Ohtani is having another great season. He is third in the league in home runs, third in Slugging Percentage, and third in OPS.

LA’s pitching staff has been disappointing in 2025. They are 23rd in ERA, 18th in opposing batting average, and 21st in WHIP. The Dodgers have struggled on the mound because of injuries. Blake Snell has only made two starts, Roki Sasaki has been out since early May, and Relief Pitcher Michael Kopech will be out a few months after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus. The Los Angeles Dodgers are no strangers to pitching injuries. They won the World Series last season with only a few healthy starters.

Final Thoughts

The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to get back in the win column this afternoon against the San Francisco Giants. Los Angeles will send Ohtani to the mound today with immense pressure on his shoulders. The Dodgers have a great roster, but they have not been playing up to their potential.
