The Los Angeles Dodgers continued their winning ways on Sunday afternoon with a 4-0 victory at home against the Colorado Rockies. The Dodgers took two of three games this weekend against Colorado and swept the New York Mets in a three-game set on the road earlier this week. Los Angeles has won five of their last six games coming off what was a terrible stretch of baseball.
Before this winning streak, the Los Angeles Dodgers dropped five straight games(two against the Arizona Diamondbacks and three against the Cincinnati Reds). The Dodgers have found their groove this week both at the plate and on the mound. Los Angeles has outscored the opposition 27-10 over their last six games.

Los Angeles Dodgers Season Summary
The Dodgers(38-23) hold a 6.5-game lead in the National League West over the San Diego Padres. Los Angeles has one of the league’s most potent offenses this season. They are fifth in batting average, third in home runs, and fifth in runs scored. Their offense is led by the dynamic duo of Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts.
Ohtani is fourth in the league in batting average while Betts is seventh. Ohtani is also eighth in the league with 14 home runs. Betts and Ohtani are second and sixth in the league respectively in hits. First Baseman Freddie Freeman is having a tremendous year as well but is not leading the ballclub in any offensive categories. He had two RBI in LA’s win earlier today.
The pitching staff of Los Angeles is no slouch in their own right. They are third in ERA, eighth in strikeouts, and second in opposing batting average. Starting Pitchers Tyler Glasnow and Gavin Stone are the anchors of the Los Angeles Dodgers rotation. Glasnow leads the league in strikeouts and Stone is top 20 in all of baseball with an ERA of 2.90.

Future first-ballot MLB Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw is ramping up baseball activities as he pitched a simulated game yesterday as he continues to rehab from a shoulder surgery he had late last year. He is eyeing a return to the diamond in July as the already great starting rotation for the Los Angeles Dodgers is nearing a boost from an all-time great.
Dodgers Upcoming Schedule
Los Angeles has a day off Monday before heading on the road for a three-game set against the Pittsburgh Pirates beginning on Tuesday. The Dodgers then head to the “Big Apple” for a long-awaited three-game series against the New York Yankees that gets underway on Friday.
LA entered the 2024 season with lofty expectations and have somehow surpassed them up until this point. As is the case with a team as talented as the Dodgers, anything less than a World Series title will be looked at as a colossal failure.
The team must not be weighed down by such high expectations as they look to continue playing great baseball and win their second World Series in five seasons. The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays in six games to win the 2020 World Series.
