Louis Riddick says Jordan Love will lead Packers to win NFC North, knock out Super Bowl favorite

Jordan Love enters his third season as the Green Bay Packers starting quarterback perhaps under more scrutiny than ever, but one prominent NFL analyst has high hopes for him this year.

Louis Riddick says Jordan Love will lead Packers to win NFC North, knock out Super Bowl favorite

Love had a good start to his career, taking his team to the Divisional Round of the playoffs in 2023, only being narrowly edged out by the San Francisco 49ers, who went on to reach the Super Bowl.

That set Love up with great hype going into 2024, and he had something of a down season (although don’t let him hear you say that) amid battles with various injuries and inconsistent play.

That’s left him with something to prove in 2025, but Louis Riddick has full faith in him doing so.

Louis Riddick doubles down on faith in Jordan Love, predicts NFC North win

Speaking on ‘Get Up’ on ESPN, Riddick answered a question about Love’s capabilities to win the Super Bowl or make the playoffs in 2025 with a bullish answer.

“There’s a lot of things going for this football team right now, one being Jordan Love ascending in the second half of last year. He was let down by his receivers, their drop rate was too high. If they can get that going, and pair that with the running game they have, they’ve a lot of dynamic playmakers, especially on defense. Stay healthy, catch a hot streak, and Green Bay could be right there. The North is very hotly contested, but the Packers will be right in the mix.”

Riddick has often complimented Jordan Love, saying as recently as last year that Love would be the quarterback he would start a franchise with given the choice (sans Patrick Mahomes, of course).

The former Utah State product has already thrown sixty touchdowns in his short career, and has helped along the development of multiple young wide receivers at Lambeau. While he’s yet to claim an NFC North title as a starter, he has led the team to the playoffs twice, including a stunning 2023 upset of the Dallas Cowboys.

Love needs two things to go right for Riddick to be correct

It’s certainly possible Riddick will be correct. The NFC North is, after all, wide open, and probably one of the true four-horse races in the NFL this season.

However, for Riddick to be spot on, Love needs two things: his health to remain, and chemistry with his young receivers. One likely begets the other, as more game and playing time increases that chemistry, which can only come if Love stays on the field.

However, Love’s recent thumb injury is unlikely to quell some doubts that have arisen over his durability, and with his status for Week 1 in question, the team really needs him to live up to the hype this year.

There are other elements, of course — the Packers’ reliance on young defensive backs, for example, is a question, and one Love alone cannot answer — but Love’s best chance of success is to put his best foot forward in 2025, and that starts with being on the field for the opening snaps of the season.
