Luke Feels “Thrown Under the Bus” for His Text's Apparent Role in Jax & Brittany’s Breakup

Brittany Cartwright revealed on The Valley finale that when Luke Broderick texted Jax Taylor to ask if he needed to talk because of "everything" he was going through, he inadvertently ignited the explosive fight that would cause her to pack her bags, move out, and separate from Jax. Luke, meanwhile, was completely unaware of any role he may have played in the former couple's split — until now.

He shared as much on the June 5 episode of the So Bad It’s Good with Ryan Bailey podcast after he was asked how he felt being the catalyst for Brittany to reach her "breaking point" with Jax.

"I didn't know. I didn't know that," Luke said. "But I will say there have been multiple times l've reached out to Jax to be a true friend that's going to, you know, not sugarcoat things, but not be a d-ck to him. [I'd] be like, 'Hey, this is the way I see it. I'm seeing both sides and you can fix this. It's just going to take a little change.' And let's just say I feel like I've been thrown under the bus by him multiple times."

Luke's girlfriend Kristen Doute shared a similar sentiment.

Jax Taylor Has Lied About Luke Broderick Texting Him in the Past, According to Kristen Doute
Kristen, more specifically, accused Jax of "[making] things up" about Luke.

As she recalled on the podcast, "There was one day that Luke, like I was in bed, Luke had just woken up and Brittany's blowing my phone up going, 'What is Luke saying to Jax? Because Jax said that Luke texted him.' ... And I'm like half awake going, 'Luke, did you text Jax some weird sh-t that would upset Brittany?' Luke shows me his phone — not that I need him to prove anything, you know, I'm just asking — and he's like, 'I haven't talked to Jax since, I don't know, like a week ago.'"

"So, Jax had made up this whole lie that tried to throw Luke and I under the bus," Kristen concluded, "but it was something that never even existed."
