For the second game in a row, Green Bay Packers kicker Brayden Narveson was not perfect. After going 3-of-4 on his field-goal attempts in Week 1’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Sao Paulo, Narveson seemed to struggle anew, as he went 3-of-4 as well in last Sunday’s 16-10 home win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Despite the two misses from Narveson, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur still has confidence in the undrafted rookie.

“I’d say from, my perspective, pretty patient,” LaFleur said Monday. “I like his mentality, I like his talent. There’s going to be some ups and downs. Hopefully, there’s more ups than downs. I do think he’s done a pretty nice job. He needs to make that field goal, he knows, we all know it, but I’m confident if he’s in that situation again, he’ll hit it.”
Both of Narveson’s misses so far this season came within the 40-to-49-yard range. He bricked a 43-yard attempt in Brazil and a 45-yard try at Lambeau Field.
Narveson was brought in just before the season by the Packers to be their starter after they released both Anders Carlson and Greg Joseph. Before joining the Packers, Narveson saw action for the Tennessee Titans in the preseason and got waived by the AFC South franchise late last August.
Through two games, Narveson has made six field goals out of eight attempts. He is also 3-of-3 on extra-point tries. He could redeem himself in Week 3 against his former team, as the Packers are scheduled to face off against the Titans in Nashville this coming Sunday.
