Most of the Los Angeles Rams players will walk into Ford Field on Sunday with headphones to block out the noise while going through their pregame routines.
Matthew Stafford won’t. The former Lions quarterback knows that he’ll hear from Lions fans before the two teams open the season against one another on Sunday night. He’s looking forward to it.
“I want to hear all of it,” Stafford said at a press conference on Wednesday in Los Angeles. “I want to smell it. I want to feel like it’s football and that’s part of football, especially going to an away game. That stuff just motivates me.
“I feel the crowd, one hundred percent. Motivating factor. Love it.”
Stafford will kick off his 16th NFL season in the place where he spent his first 12 years of his career, quarterbacking a franchise that struggled to turn the corner.
