The Dallas Mavericks found themselves with an 11-8 record on the young season as of Friday evening with a road game on tap against the Utah Jazz at 9:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
Many fans expected more from coach Jason Kidd's team heading into the season based on this past spring's NBA Finals run, but injuries have contributed to the team's relatively slow start.
On Friday, Kidd provided a post-practice injury update on his two sharpshooters with Saturday's game looming.
Doncic has missed the last four games with a wrist strain while Klay Thompson has missed the last two with plantar fascia.
Thompson did not practice Friday, but Kidd said he is feeling better. Doncic practiced, with Kidd saying he "looks like Luka."
"We'll see how he feels tomorrow," Kidd said about Doncic's potential to play against Utah on Saturday at 9:30 p.m. Doncic is expected to travel with the team.
The Mavericks have reeled off six wins in seven games since losing to the Jazz on Nov. 14 and holding a team meeting in response.
