The Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers have officially completed their blockbuster trade that swaps Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis, among other pieces. A nine-time NBA All-Star, Davis does give Dallas a win-now piece. As for Doncic, the 25-year-old superstar is the future face of the Lakers.
Currently sidelined with a calf injury, Doncic is not expected to debut for Los Angeles until at least Saturday against the Indiana Pacers (via Jovan Buha of The Athletic).
Also injured at the time of this trade, Davis was a two days removed from LA's announcement that he would be reevaluated in approximately one week after suffering an abdominal muscle strain (via ESPN's Dave McMenamin).
With the trade official, Davis is eligible to debut for his new team, but will first have to fully recovery from this injury. On Monday, the Mavericks made an announcement as it pertains to Davis and his looming debut.
"New Mavs Anthony Davis and Max Christie are listed as questionable vs. 76ers due to trade pending," ESPN's Tim MacMahon shared on X. "They are joining the team in Philadelphia. Davis' abdominal injury, which caused him to miss his last three games as a Laker, is not listed."

Davis' abdominal injury, which caused him to miss his last three games as a Laker, is not listed.
Not only is the questionable status significant, but as MacMahon noted, Davis' abdominal injury is not listed. This opens the door for Davis to possibly make his Mavericks debut on Tuesday against the Philadelphia 76ers.
In 42 games this season, Davis has averaged 25.7 points, 11.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists on 52.8% from the field.
