Veteran forward Maxi Kleber just can't catch a break.

What Maxi Kleber's Injury Means For Dallas Mavericks - Fastbreak on FanNation

In the Mavericks' second game against the Phoenix Suns, Kleber exited the game with a hamstring injury.

The Suns were able to win in a much-anticipated contest, but another headline is that the injury bug has hit Kleber again.

While it's frustrating for Mavs fans to watch Kleber in pain again, it's important to stay patient with the reliable veteran. It's a positive sign that Kleber is already listed as questionable for tonight's game, signaling that he likely avoided serious injury, but even minor injuries have caused major setbacks for him in the past. Even with all of the injuries, Kleber remains a crucial piece in Dallas.

Kleber remains important part of Mavericks' success despite injuries

On opening night, we saw Kleber in the grill of Victor Wembanyama, and he was forced to put up a tough shot.

This was a positive sign for the Mavericks on what they can do when Kleber plays.

There's nothing smooth about his game. He takes charges and he's not afraid to go up against any big man. He comes in and does what's asked of him, whether it's knocking down shots or playing aggressive defense.

We also see Kleber play in the fourth quarter in crunch time. Him and Doncic have a good relationship, as he's one of Doncic's longest-tenured teammates.

You can't forget about the time he hit an important shot when the Mavericks looked like they were going to miss the play-in, and yes, they still did, but this was his shining moment when he hit the jackpot for some major onions.

Fast forward to now, and the key additions to the Mavs gave a question as to Kleber's spot in the rotation.

News flash, his spot is fine. Kleber played 15 minutes against San Antonio and played in 16 minutes against Phoenix before injuring his hamstring.

He's had injuries such as another hamstring injury which kept him out for months of the 2022-23 season. Kleber also suffered a dislocated shoulder last year during the playoffs, which kept him out for the Oklahoma City series.

Mavs fans should be sensitive to Kleber's injuries. He's always been an important part of the team and there's obviously a reason why the organization has kept him for eight seasons.

His energy is high, his physicality is high and he's a reason why the team will succeed this season.

There's been speculation from fans about him not lasting the whole season. His injuries are probably the biggest factor in that potential decision, which is a fair critique to have.

For the organization, Kleber is worth having patience for. The Mavericks aren't who they are today without him, and it's time to see that.
