Meet the Rookies: Tight End Ben Sinnott Catches Unique Opportunity with Commanders

Every NFL rookie has a story on how they were able to turn their dreams of playing professional football into a reality. Commanders' second-round pick Ben Sinnott is no exception.

The tight end began his college career as a walk-on at Kansas State. From there, he wracked up two All-Big 12 honors, a Third-Team AP All-American designation, and finished his career with ten touchdowns to tie a program record for the most receiving touchdowns by a tight end.

"It means so much to put the W on and be a member of the Commanders," Sinnott said. "It's something I worked so hard for; it's something I dreamed of doing as a kid. So, being able to just put the W on, be out here competing with these guys, with these coaches, it means everything."

Sinnott is expected to add value to the Commanders' passing game and already has high praise for rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.

"He's super talented, [a] great dude, and one person I really like to just be around and hopefully grow with," Sinnott said. "There's just guys who players get attracted to, revolve around. He's got that personality where you want to be with him. You want to work with him."

Sinnott acknowledged the hard work it took to get him to the NFL but mentioned the timing of it all makes this opportunity even more special.

"Obviously, we're the first class to come in, so, being able to build that culture, get in with that new staff," Sinnott said. "Kind of be that first person to lay that foundation, build that culture and just grow as an organization."

"I think we got some great things ahead of us, and I'm super excited to see what we can accomplish," he added.
