Miami Dolphins sign former Detroit Lions linebacker Curtis Bolton

The Miami Dolphins announced the signing of former Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Curtis Bolton on Saturday. Former UTEP quarterback Gavin Hardison was released to make room on the 90-man roster.

Miami Dolphins Make Roster Moves on Day Off

Miami has been looking for depth at linebacker since placing David Long Jr. on the physically unable to perform list when training camp began, hosting former Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Shaq Quarterman late last week before signing Bolton.

The Dolphins have Jordyn Brooks, Anthony Walker Jr., Zeke Vandenburgh, Channing Tindall, Duke Riley, and Cam Brown also competing for snaps inside.

Bolton went undrafted in 2019 and bounced from the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, and San Francisco 49ers before landing with the Detroit Lions in 2021. He found his rhythm with the Raiders, appearing in 23 games with 16 tackles while primarily playing special teams over the last two seasons.

Hardison, 24, played only five games in his redshirt senior season with the Miners before undergoing Tommy John surgery. He signed with the Dolphins in late April and participated in the team’s offseason minicamps.
