So, needless to say, Niners fans can laugh out loud at perennial All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons publicly declaring he wants out from Dallas after a long run of unsuccessful talks between his camp and Cowboys owner/CEO Jerry Jones.
Parsons' declaration of "I no longer want to be here" speaks volumes:
Now, at least according to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, Dallas has zero intention of honoring Parsons' trade request, and it sure seems as if this is a tactic from the star defender to merely get his contract demands answered.
In all likelihood, the two parties reach an agreement at some point.
But, if they don't and Parsons' is ultimately traded, there's a modest chance it could spell disaster for San Francisco.
49ers want nothing to do with Micah Parsons in the NFC West (and it could happen)
Citing DraftKings' odds of a hypothetical Parsons trade, CBS Sports' Brandon Gustafson listed out the teams with the best odds of trading with Dallas for the All-Pro.
The Super Bowl-champion Philadelphia Eagles were atop the list, which would be ironic for an NFC East move, and it's a bit of a surprise to see the 49ers listed, too, at +1600 -- the fifth-best odds for a trading team.
However, the Niners are nestled right in between the Arizona Cardinals (+1600) and the Los Angeles Rams (+1800), which suggests the NFC West has a significantly worrisome chance of being Parsons' next home, assuming San Francisco doesn't miraculously land him, of course.
Making things more worrisome, Yahoo! Sports' Frank Schwab cited the Rams as a team that "will always consider making a big trade," and general manager Les Snead's prior history of dishing out draft picks for proven veteran talent certainly has to be taken into consideration.
From the 49ers' vantage point, "no, no, no."

The best-case outcome for the Niners is for Parsons to wind up in the Bay Area and sign a team-friendly extension with San Francisco dishing out nothing but late-round picks in return (this clearly won't happen).
The most realistic best-case scenario, assuming Parsons is dealt, is for him to wind up somewhere out of the conference entirely, perhaps going to the New England Patriots or Las Vegas Raiders.
A worst-case nightmare would be Parsons heading to the NFC West, especially with a rival like L.A.
