Micah Parsons Sends Clear Message Amid Trade Rumors

By almost every measure, the Dallas Cowboys are having a disappointing season. They're currently 6-8 and third in the NFC East, with a playoff spot nowhere in sight.

Not only has the performance on the field been lackluster, but one of the key players, linebacker Micah Parsons, has been the center of several trade rumors.

The rumors have gotten so loud that Parsons felt the need to address them on his podcast, "The Edge with Micah Parsons." Luckily for Dallas fans, his words sound hopeful.

"We're gonna figure out a way for me to be a Cowboy for life," he said.

Many of these speculations have come about because Parsons is in one of the final years of his rookie contract. In 2025, he will play under the fifth-year option, making $24 million, and after that, he's slated to become a free agent.

Spotrac has placed his market value at $29 million annually, which means he would make more per year than other big names like T.J. Watt ($28 million) and Brian Burns ($28.2 million).

That's not a surprise, though, because Parson's numbers for the Cowboy's defense are remarkable.

In 60 career games, he's accumulated 245 tackles, 49 sacks, 59 tackles for loss and 108 quarterback hits.

He's also a three-time Pro Bowler, two-time First Team All-Pro and won Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021.
