The Lions' defensive line was one of the best in the NFL when healthy, led by former Michigan star Aidan Hutchinson, free agent acquisition DJ Reader and longtime stalwart Alim McNeill.

On Wednesday, one of the University of Michigan's top players in recent memory, defensive tackle Kenneth Grant, revealed his thoughts on playing for the Lions in thoughts posted to X by Lions beat writer Nolan Bianchi.

Grant said at the 2025 NFL combine that he wants to run a 4.8 in the 40, which would be an impressive feat for his size at 332 pounds.

He added that he's lost 13 pounds and feels significantly more quick and agile.

Grant, who hails from Merrillville, Indiana, added that he is interested in playing for coach Dan Campbell and new defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard's Detroit Lions.

"Very cordial and challenged me," Grant said about his meeting with the Lions.
