Mike Tomlin Has Message for Potential Steelers Quarterback

After Aaron Rodgers left the Pittsburgh Steelers facility last month after a six-hour visit, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin showed his emotional side when discussing the former Green Bay Packers great.

Whether or not Rodgers decides to sign a contract with the Steelers, Tomlin showed his deep and everlasting appreciation for Rodgers and his talent.

"I'm excited to be quite honest about the acquisition of new talent. Aaron came and spent a day with us. We had an awesome day," Tomlin said. "For a couple of guys like ourselves, me and Aaron have been in the league as long as we have and to be familiar with one another, there's still no substitute for spending time together and bouncing ideas off of one another. Getting to know one another in a more intimate way beyond competition. So, that was exciting."

The brass in Pittsburgh believes Rodgers can help the Steelers get over the hump and get out of the first round of the playoffs. Pittsburgh fans are craving a Super Bowl appearance. The quarterback is hoping to end his career on a better note than he left it with the New York. Jets.

Rodgers has not agreed to join the Steelers yet and there is no indication as to when he will announce his decision.

Tomlin believes Rodgers is a key component to getting to the promised land.

"The process of evaluating everyone at the position has been a fun one, but, fun for me is winning," Tomlin said. "So the players that we acquire, we got to train, we got to assimilate them into our culture and we got to get prepared to meet the challenge of competition in the fall and winter."
