Mike Tyson, Jake Paul build boxing fight hype with scuffle, barbs: 'He is going to run'

   

The Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul boxing match for Nov. 15 is back on and the two met face-to-face Sunday at the New York City Fan Festival for a news conference to draw attention to their fight.

And they did draw attention.

Tyson shoved Paul during the news conference, which included the two jawing at each other.

The two also had some very interesting things to say about the fight, which was pushed back from July 20 after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up.

Tyson is 58 years old. Paul is 27. The fight is scheduled to be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington Texas, the home of the Dallas Cowboys.

Mike Tyson 'prepared' for fight vs Jake Paul

"It's happening," Tyson told reporters. "We're all here. … I'm prepared. I'm very prepared. I had a small adversity, I got sick, but I got better. I feel good."

"I'm beautiful," Tyson added.

Jake Paul slams New York in news conference

"Hey, New York, shut the (expletive) up, New York," Paul yelled to the crowd as he was booed on Sunday. "Boo yourselves. Boo yourselves, New York. Hey, New York, you're just like Mike Tyson, you were good 20 years ago."

He added: "There's a lot of big names out there who want to fight me," Paul said. "I still want (super middleweight undisputed champion of the world) Canelo Álvarez and I want to go on the path of world championship, and that's what I'm here to do and I will make it happen. And when it does happen, people are going to go: '(Expletive), that kid knew something we didn't.'"

Mike Tyson: Jake Paul is going to 'run like a thief'

"He (Paul) may have been in the ring with people who have the same intentions, but the actuality, no," Tyson told reporters. "As soon as I catch this guy it's going to be totally over, he is going to run. He is going to run like a thief."

"Because I can," Tyson told reporters when asked about his motivation for the fight. "Who else can do it but me? Who else is he going to fight to make this happen? We’ve just got to listen to the facts. We’ve got a YouTuber fighting the greatest fighter that ever lived.”

"I love Mike and I respect him but we are not friends any more until 15 November," Paul told reporters at the news conference.

Social media buzzed about the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson bout after the news conference:
