Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold has become one of the most surprising players in the 2024 NFL season. He became an afterthought after mediocre years with the New York Jets and the Carolina Panthers.
He also had a forgettable stint with the San Francisco 49ers. But this season, Darnold is proving himself as a very capable starter, as he continues to lead Minnesota’s attack.
On the season, Darnold has passed for 3,776 yards and 32 touchdowns against only 11 interceptions on a 67.2 percent completion rate. His plus-4.5 above expected completion percentage is second overall in the NFL, with just Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts having a better number.
Will Darnold lead the Vikings to another win against the Green Bay Packers?
Darnold will look to have another solid performance against the Packers, who lost to Minnesota back in Week 4 at Lambeau Field, 31-29.
In that contest, Darnold passed for 275 yards and three touchdowns with an interception on 20-of-28 pass completions while Packers QB Jordan Love had 389 passing yards and four touchdowns with three picks thrown on 32-of-54 completed connections.
