MLB Rumors: Executives Clueless To Red Sox Deadline Approach

MassLive’s Sean McAdam issued his latest update regarding the club’s plans late on Tuesday, and cited two league executives who seemingly had zero clue as to what was happening with Boston.

The Red Sox are in “stealth” mode, according to one, while another said they “haven’t heard much of anything” with less than two days before the deadline.

Odd.

It’s not exactly surprising to hear that some teams have been kept in the dark, because why would Boston have any sort of communication with fellow supposed buyers like the Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees or Toronto Blue Jays? McAdam presumable spoke with executives that would have reason to know things, though, right?

Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow has obvious needs — starting pitching, relief pitching, first base — but who he is talking to and about seems to remain a mystery.
