On the final day of Rookie Camp we have more prospects to look at
The Washington Capitals finish up Rookie Camp today. If you're attending or just following along here are some names to watch in our final edition.
Here is the final list of prospcts to watch today and throughout the season:
Terik Parascak: He's the main face throughout the course of the weekend as the 18 year old was drafted by the Caps in the first round at 17th overall in the 2024 NHL Draft. He was ranked third among North American Right Wings and 15th among all North American skaters.
Ilya Protas: The younger brother of Aliaksei, he was drafted in the third round at 75th overall in the 2024 NHL Draft. The six foot five and 195 pound forward recorded 51 points in 61 games with the Des Moines Buccaneers with a 14 goal and 37 assist season.
Alexander Suzdalev: Drafted by the Caps in the third round at 70th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft, he recorded 25 points in 30 games with the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League of the WHL with nine goals and 18 assists. The six foot 2 and 176 pound forward added 13 points with four goals and nine assists in 16 WHL playoff games. The Khabarovsk, Russia native also appeared in 13 games with Mora IK of HockeyAllsvenskan where he registered three points with two goals and one assist.
Patrick Thomas: Drafted by the Caps in the fourth round at 104th overall in the 2023 NHL Draft, the 19 year old recorded 77 points with 21 goals and 45 assists in 57 games with the Brantford Bulldogs of the Ontario Hockey League.
Hudson Thoronton: The 21 year old signed an AHL contract with the Herhsey Bears for the upcoming season. He recorded a career high 74 points with 18 goals and 56 assists while appearing in all 68 regular season games with the Prince George Cougars of the WHL in 2023-24. Thoronton served as team captain and led the Prince George Blueliners in goals, assists, points, power play goals with six and power play assists with 32.
Oasiz Weisblatt: A free agent invitee, the 20 year old was named to the WHL Central Division Second All Star Team after recording 91 points with 26 goals and 65 assists in 63 regular season games with the Medicine Hat Tigers.
Tyler Weiss: He signed an AHL contract with the Hershey Bears for the upcoming season. The 24 year old recorded 39 points with 14 goals and 25 assists in 56 games during his first professional season with the Newfoundland Growlers of the ECHL last season.
If you're attendinfg today which is the final day of Rookie Camp at Brigade Sports Complex the goalies are on the ice at 10:30 a.m. followed by practice from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
