Bachelor in Paradise season 10 reveals starting cast members!

For the first time ever, Bachelor in Paradise season 10 will welcome Golden Bachelor and Golden Bachelorette alums to its new location in Costa Rica, and now the younger contestants reveal if they have any intention of dating them.

Before Bachelor in Paradise season 10 officially began, Us Weekly interviewed some of the week 1 contestants about whether they'd date the Golden alums. Zoe, 28, shared that she's keeping her options open, but, "Historically, I’ve capped it at 45. I don’t know what the [youngest] is for the Goldens, but I think as far as they go, I just want to focus on their advice and their wisdom, but you know, never say never."

Jess, 26, shared that, while she's excited to have some Golden guidance, she doesn't think that she'd "go for any of the Goldens," especially because her father wouldn't like it. She said, "I am 26. I think my dad would literally kill me, but with that being said, I’m so excited they’re going to be here. I think it’s going to be fun. I think they’re going to be able to give us some advice. I think they’re going to be running the beach."

Spencer, 32, has a practical reason for not wanting to date a Golden woman. He shared, "I’m not dating someone my grandma’s age! Nothing against it. I would like children. If we’re being realistic, science has not advanced to that point. But would I like advice from all of these people? Please and thank you! Bring it my way."

Dale, 36, also feels that he'd be better off as friends with the Golden stars, but he's dated older women in the past. He explained, "I’ve definitely got older women in my dating history. I don’t even think about someone’s age [or the] gap. I think The Golden Bachelor [stars], they’re going to be more guidance and friendships. I can just say that very, very clear. No shade!"

What The Younger Bachelor In Paradise Cast Members' Rejection Of The Golden Alums Means

The Age Gaps Are Too Big

Although it's going to be interesting to see the Golden cast members join Bachelor in Paradise season 10, the age gaps between them and the younger contestants are simply too big for them to have relationships with them. Spencer made a good point about wanting to have children, especially because many of the Golden women are already grandmothers. In addition, while Dale got engaged to older woman Clare Crawley during The Bachelorette season 16, she was only eight years older than him, not thirty to forty years older.

Bachelor in Paradise has seen some big age gaps in successful relationships in the past, including season 7's Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt, who were 35 and 23, and Kenny Braasch and Mari Pepin, who were 40 and 25, at the time of their engagements. Both couples are now happily married, but their age differences were controversial at the time. However, they're nothing compared to the potential 30- to 40-year age gap between the Bachelor in Paradise season 10 contestants and their Golden counterparts.

Our Take On Bachelor In Paradise Season 10 Age-Gap Romances

These Relationships Shouldn't Happen

Although host Jesse Palmer and bartender Wells Adams have been very vocal about their hopes for Bachelor in Paradise season 10 age gap romances, I think that they're a terrible idea. The age range of the Golden Bachelor women was 60 to 75, while the Golden Bachelorette men were ages 57 to 69. This is too much of a difference for women and men in their 20s and 30s. If the contestants are truly there to find lasting love, then I think that they should stick to relationships with people in a more realistic age range.

I believe that the Golden contestants are better off dating each other, while offering advice to the younger generation. I'm happy to see that the Bachelor in Paradise season 10 stars are thinking logically about how to handle this unprecedented situation. They're already proving that they joined the show for the right reasons.
