The Tennessee Titans could use an elite edge rusher to bolster their defense front next season. While conventional wisdom would say to build through the draft and select a player like Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter at No. 1, there are a handful of veteran pass rushers available.
Most notably, 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett recently requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns, and based on where the two teams are selecting in the 2025 NFL Draft, a trade could make sense for both sides. Unfortunately, Garrett does not appear to have much interest after he admitted recently that he could not name a single player on the Tennessee roster.
Garrett was on the set with CBS Sports HQ down in New Orleans ahead of Super Bowl LIX. He was playing a game in which the host showed him an NFL team's logo and Garrett had to name the first player from that team that came to his mind. However, his mind seemingly went blank when shown the Titans logo and he had to apologize to Tennessee fans for being unable to come up with a name.
The Titans were far from the best team in the NFL a season ago, but their roster is not completely devoid of talent. Tennessee has promising young players on the offensive line like JC Latham and Peter Skoronski, but none of these players made enough of an impression to jog Garrett's memory.
His lack of knowledge about the team could be portrayed as a lack of interest. At the very least, it is not very reassuring for Titans fans who want to acquire Garrett and think that the franchise has pieces or a future that could be appealing to the defensive star. It was unlikely that he ended up in Tennessee anyway, but it feels nearly impossible now.
