New angle of defeated Chiefs sideline makes Eagles’ SB win even sweeter

The Super Bowl rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles was going to be monumental for a number of reasons, the most discussed being the possibility of the Chiefs solidifying their dynasty by being the first team to win three Championships in a row in the NFL.

The Eagles might not have had the same expectations coming into the game, but the way they built their team over the last few years, with the addition of Saquon Barkley in free agency, made them a much better team than the last time they met the Chiefs on the biggest stage of them all.

Two very different teams came back to face each other once again, with the defending champions remaining the favorites until the game started. Fortunately for the Eagles, it didn't take long for them to prove those people wrong, and they kept that energy going for the entire 60 minutes.

The Eagles domination proved to be too much for the Chiefs to handle in Super Bowl LIX

The Eagles have made it their mission over the last few years to really build up their roster in the trenches and boy, did that pay off on Sunday night. Not only were they disrupting any possible offensive effort by Patrick Mahomes, but they made it nearly impossible for him to do anything successfully throughout the game.

Multiple interceptions, one of which was a pick-six, and 5+ sacks were in his face all night long, which was clearly something Mahomes has never had to deal with before. It caused the game to get out of reach fairly quickly, resulting in a very sad-looking Kansas City sideline that everyone outside of the Chiefs Kingdom could enjoy.

It was the sweetest revenge for the Eagles after the rough ending they saw to their 2022 season, and seeing the disappointment in their opponents this time made it even better.

Now, there won't be any conversation about Jalen Hurts and the type of quarterback he is, or if A.J. Brown is staying in Philadelphia, or if Nick Sirriani is the right head coach for the job because winning a Lombardi Trophy speaks for itself. And who better to beat than the Chiefs?
