The Philadelphia Eagles had one of, if not the best defense in the NFL this past season, and a lot of that has to do with the great coaching from defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.
The team added veteran cornerback Adoree' Jackson in free agency earlier this offseason, and he recently gave his thoughts on the team's very unique defensive coordinator.
"Vic is one of those coaches that just respects hard work," Jackson said. "I appreciate that type of coaching style because he’s got the right coaches around him. So if he says something, you can talk to him, but then you’ve got the position coaches to articulate a little bit better for him. They all go hand-in-hand, but being around Vic is pretty cool."
Fangio is not perfect; ask some of his Miami Dolphins players on his last stop. In Philly, though, it is hard to say anything bad about him, because he absolutely gets the job done.
The Eagles were No. 1 in the league this past season in terms of total yards allowed and passing yards allowed, as well as being top 10 in rushing yards allowed. With these stats, it is very hard to dispute that their defensive unit was one of the keys in them being able to go all the way - in part driven by Vic’s style.
Philadelphia won the second Super Bowl in franchise history this past season, so the team's defense will be looking to help the team defend their title in 2025.
