This signing already looks like a great one for the Lightning.
The Tampa Bay Lightning made the biggest splash of the summer when they signed star forward Jake Guentzel to a seven-year, $63 million contract. With this, there were naturally very high expectations regarding his arrival. So far, he is living up to them big time.
Guentzel has provided the Lightning with excellent offense thus far, as he has five goals and 13 points in his first 13 games with the club. In addition, he is not showing signs of slowing down, as he has six points over his last five contests.
Sometimes, it can take a star player some time to adjust to a new club, but Guentzel is fitting in swimmingly with the Lightning. The hope from here is that he will maintain his hot start, and given how excellent of a player he is, he undoubtedly has the potential to.
It will be fascinating to see how Guentzel builds on his hot start with the Lightning. The prospect of him hitting an even higher level could be there.
