The New Orleans Saints and the rest of the NFL are attempting to get their ducks in order ahead of free agency and the 2025 NFL Draft.
Some important news broke this afternoon regarding the best running back in football.
Saquon Barkley's extension
The Philadelphia Eagles surprised plenty on NFL fans on Tuesday. They're reportedly giving star RB Saquon Barkley a new extension, adding two years onto his deal.
Those additional years will cost Philly just under $21M per year, based on AAV.

Meanwhile, the Saints extended their stud running back during last season for a better price. Alvin Kamara looks like a steal for New Orleans at the moment.
Alvin Kamara's contract
Kamara signed a two-year, $24 million extension during last season. That carries a $12M AAV for his deal, a notably cheaper price than Barkley holds for the Eagles now.
It remains to be seen how much additional help the Saints will grab this offseason in the RB room. Their new head coach is the former OC for Barkley's Eagles, so New Orleans will assuredly value the position going forward.
No matter what - getting a new deal done for Kamara has aged quite nicely for New Orleans.
