New Orleans Saints receive devastating injury update regarding offensive superstar

Alvin Kamara has been the heartbeat of the New Orleans Saints' offense for the past several years, and even as he pushes 30, that hasn't changed in 2024.

However, there's a decent chance the Saints will be without him on Monday night -- and perhaps the rest of the season.

Kamara is dealing with a groin injury that he sustained on Sunday against the Washington Commanders, and according to interim head coach Darren Rizzi, it seems worse than initially thought.

Kamara is the Saints' leader in both rushing yards (950) and receiving yards (543) in 2024, quietly having one of the best campaigns of his career in Year Eight. There's a decent chance that he will make his first Pro Bowl since 2021, even if he's unable to suit up.

With the Saints offense riddled with injuries to Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and Taysom Hill, Kamara had been carrying a greater load than perhaps ever before in his career. He shot down trade rumors earlier in the season despite New Orleans' campaign being lost by the midway point, and has given it his all in every game for the struggling organization.

Kamara has set a career high in rushing yards in 2024 with 950, and is on the verge of what would amazingly be his first time ever eclipsing 1,000 yards rushing. It would be extremely unfortunate if this injury prevents him from doing so.

In the meantime, veteran Jamaal Williams and second-year player Kendre Miller will be ready to step up in Kamara's absence for however long is necessary.
