New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is surely one of the most electrifying players in the NFL. But as great as Kamara is at leaving defenders in the dust, he’s just not as impressive when it comes to baseball simply because it’s not his sport.
That doesn’t mean he was not willing to throw out the first pitch before Saturday’s game between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field. In fact, he didn’t just throw the ceremonial pitch once. He did it twice, as he asked for the ball back after botching the first pitch.
New Orleans also sent a message following Kamara’s trip to Wrigley Field for being a great host to the Saints star.
“Thanks for the hospitality @Cubs 🤝” the Saints shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Kamara did not just throw the first pitch, as he also posed for a photo beside a jersey of Cubs pitcher Justin Steele, who appreciated that gesture from Kamara.
“I’m literally geeking out right now,” the lefty hurler said in a post on X.
Unfortunately for the Cubs, they were not able to pull off a win, as they suffered an 8-6 loss to the Cardinals to drop to 53-36. The Cubs, who saw their four-game win streak get snapped, will look to close out the Cardinals series with a victory this Sunday.
