New Orleans Saints swing for the fences during latest 3-round mock draft to improve on both offense and defense

As we enter April, it's still tough to predict the plan for the New Orleans Saints for the 2025 NFL Draft. New Orleans has plenty of needs remaining, but their free agency moves have filled some important holes as well.

A recent mock draft made some additions for both their offense and defense who could make an impact in year one. The latest 3-round mock draft for the Saints has  blend of offensive and defensive prospects with notable upside.

Saints' picks in latest 3-round NFL mock draft

9. New Orleans Saints: Shemar Stewart, EDGE Texas A&M

Like it or not, Stewart is going to go very high. The talent is undeniable but the floor is also scary. Stewart could be as good as he wants to be, or as bad as the supports around him. -- Ryan Roberts

I don't love taking an EDGE for the Saints in round one. With Stewart, it is all a projection. His collegiate production was limited, but he has tools for days. He's got arguably the most impressive NFL Scouting Combine performance in history for a pass rusher.

His size, speed, and strength combo will entice a team to select him in round one, but the top ten would be a steep price for him. For New Orleans, they extended Carl Granderson recently and brought back Chase Young on a multi-year deal. I'd prefer an offensive lineman, offensive weapon, or a player in the secondary with this pick most likely.

40. New Orleans Saints: Donovan Jackson, OT/OG Ohio State

Love this selection. Jackson is one of the most well-rounded OL prospects in this class. For the Saints, he would compete for the starting left guard position as a rookie. Not to mention, his experience at tackle could help him be an option as the swing tackle for New Orleans.

Need meets value here for the Saints. Makes a ton of sense to attack their interior offensive line on day two.

71. New Orleans Saints: Savion Williams, WR TCU

Williams, with a build of 6'4 and 220 pounds, would be an awesome fit as a big bodied wide receiver for the Saints.

Their current starting trio is Chris Olave, Brandin Cooks, and Rashid Shaheed. All of those guys can push the ball downfield but lack size. None of them are 6'1 or taller. Williams also has experience as a rusher from the backfield. Some looks with Williams, Alvin Kamara, and Taysom Hill all as rushing options on plays would be really intriguing.

93. New Orleans Saints: Omarr Norman-Lott, DT Tennessee

Interior pass rush has been an inconsistency for the Saints in recent years. Alongside Bryan Bresee, Norman-Lott could be another dynamic rusher who clogs up the middle, too.

There are some injury concerns with the former Volunteers defender, but this is great value if he makes it here, particularly if those concerns are not long-term problems. The trenches get notably better for the Saints in this mock draft.
