The New York Jets season has taken another sour turn with an injury to Haason Reddick. The injury comes just days after Reddick and the Jets agreed to a new deal, thus ending the defensive end’s holdout. What started as an exciting offseason acquisition has turned into a nightmare for the Jets and Jets fans. Davante Adams, who the Jets recently acquired in a trade, already has more tackles than Reddick does.
Haason Reddick’s Jets Debut
The much anticipated debut of Hasson Reddick couldn’t have come at a better time. The Jets, after all, were facing a division foe in the New England Patriots. The Patriots are one of the worst teams in the NFL and this game was lining up to be a “must-win”. What were the results?
The Patriots snapped a six-game losing streak. Reddick played 26 snaps and recorded two quarterback pressures and no other notable statistic. No tackles, no sacks. Now, Reddick shows up on the injury report as a limited participant with a neck injury, joining a long list of injured Jets that includes Aaron Rodgers, C.J. Mosley, and Allen Lazard.
What’s Next For the Jets?
If there’s any hope of saving their season (and their fanbase), the Jets have to do it against the 6-2 Texans on Halloween. ESPN has the Jets win probability at 48.9%, a rather generous prediction considering the way the Jets have played this year. If, by some miracle, the Jets can pull off the win, they have a streak of (currently) 4-4 teams on their schedule in the Cardinals, Colts, and Seahawks before facing 2-5 Miami. If there was ever a time to turn things around, it’s now.
