NFL analyst tips Commanders WR Terry McLaurin for prestigious individual accolade

Terry McLaurin's always been held in the highest regard by everyone associated with the Washington Commanders. With the team enjoying success and rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels emerging into a franchise presence under center, his talent is becoming nationally recognized.

The Pro Bowl wide receiver is an integral part of Washington's offensive strategy. McLaurin is an alpha on and off the field, providing assured production and outstanding leadership that teammates and players alike firmly get behind.

McLaurin performed extremely well despite having no consistent quarterback presence to depend upon. That's all changed since Daniels' arrival and the results speak for themselves.

The former third-round pick is on course for another 1,000-yard receiving season — his fifth in succession. McLaurin has already reached a career-high in touchdowns with nine and could eclipse his best yards and receptions with a strong end to the campaign.

These outstanding performance levels aren't going unnoticed. Something that led one NFL analyst to project a prestigious individual accolade for McLaurin as a result of his exceptional efforts.

Commanders WR Terry McLaurin tipped for All-Pro honors in 2024

Tyler Brooke from The 33rd Team tipped McLaurin for All-Pro honors in 2024 alongside Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase. This would be the first time he'd received this recognition. It would also be richly deserved if the scenario became reality.

Two of the names at wide receiver are already established superstars, while Terry McLaurin gets the first All-Pro recognition of his career. McLaurin is having the best year of his career, thanks to rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. With 61 catches for 896 yards and nine touchdowns, he's already set a career-high mark for touchdowns. He's also pacing for his fifth straight season with 1,000 receiving yards.Tyler Brooke, The 33rd Team

McLaurin isn't interested in such praise. He's a team-first guy who's striving with everything he has to ensure the Commanders secure a playoff spot and potentially make some noise in the knockout rounds. After experiencing almost nothing but misery throughout his NFL journey, Washington's resurgence is an opportunity he doesn't want to waste.

The Commanders need to strengthen their wideout room during the offseason. They need another prolific weapon for Daniels to thrive. General manager Adam Peters also needs to maximize the signal-caller's rookie contract over the next three years before a potentially record-breaking extension is needed.

Until then, the Commanders will be relying on McLaurin heavily. He's more than capable of shouldering a heavy burden. The pass-catcher has always been regarded as one of the NFL's most underrated wideouts. All it took was a first-year gunslinger to confirm his status as one of the best.

Washington would be wise to extend McLaurin this offseason. He's got another year remaining on his deal, but Peters needs to secure his long-term status with the franchise. Something that could also get the Commanders' salary-cap number down in 2025 for good measure.

McLaurin getting an All-Pro selection would be an incredible accomplishment. There aren't many around the league who come close to his influence across their respective franchises.

He's a Washington treasure and beloved by the fanbase. Nobody deserves this success
