The Dallas Cowboys are set to enter the summer break with big questions still to answer and one NFL expert has predicted one player could be a standout player.
Jerry Jones’ offseason philosophy has seen people facepalm and question his approach to a crucial period for the Dallas Cowboys.
After another season of playoff disappointment and ‘all in’ comments, the offseason has been underwhelming for Cowboy Nation.
The Dallas Cowboys offseason has been under the microscope as they let issues remain unresolved
America’s Team has three outstanding contracts that must be addressed but Dak Prescott could play on his remaining year.
Moreover, after significant starters walked in free agency the franchise has turned to several rookies who will be expected to start.
Mike McCarthy entering the final year of his contract has also created uncertainty and an overhaul in 2025 could be on the cards.
Their running game looks questionable with the aging Ezekiel Elliott returning who looks like a shadow of former self.
A weak rushing department could see further pressure piled onto the passing game
In addition, the three-time Pro Bowler joins a rushing department of Rico Dowdle, Royce Freeman, and Deuce Vaughn, with the latter being tested at slot wide receiver during the OTAs.
Therefore, the passing game could be heavily relied upon again and Prescott will need to produce another MVP-caliber season on offense.
CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks are the only established receivers on offense with the WR3 spot still vacant.
The Dallas Cowboys decided to cut Michael Gallup, after his project failed, and now must source a player to fulfill the role.
Adam Rank believes Ryan Flournoy could have a significant role on offense
NFL expert Adam Rank believes that sixth-round pick Ryan Flournoy could prove to be a hit during his rookie year.
On NFL.com, Rank stated: “Ryan Flournoy is going to be a name to remember this season.”
Rank wrote this when answering the question of what is his hottest Cowboy fantasy take.
“Dallas needs some receiver help to go along with CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks. (Let’s be honest: It’s not like the Cowboys are going to run the ball a lot.). I think Flournoy is going to send people scrambling to the waiver wire to scoop him up when he becomes the third receiver in Dallas.”
Ryan Flournoy will compete with several teammates for the job at WR3
The WR3 position is up for grabs for Flournoy and he will have to battle his way through training camp to earn the right.
Rank believes this question mark that hovers over the team on offense could see Flournoy slot in and become a valuable fantasy piece.
Furthermore, the 24-year-old will need to battle against hungry players like Jalen Tolbert, KaVonte Turpin, Jalen Brooks, and Tyron Billy-Johnson, who will all be desperate for the WR3 role.
The competition for the job has already started and the front office could still turn to free agency for support.
Michael Thomas has been linked with a move and the two-time First-Team All-Pro could provide significant production if he stays healthy.
