NFL hits two Lions with news they didn't want to hear at the end of the bye week

Just a couple weeks ago the NFL fined Lions rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold for a face mask. Now here we are ending the bye week and the Lions are getting hit with fines again. This time it's two different players.

Levi Onwuzurkie

Onwuzurkie is getting fined for roughing the passer and driving his body weight into Geno Smith. The fine is a hefty one at $13,849. I personally don't think there was any way that Onwuzurkie could have avoided landing the way he did and when you see this penalty, it usually looks a lot worse than this.

Jameson Williams

This is the dumbest penalty the league has. Anytime a player gets a penalty for being happy and excited to have accomplished something, that's a problem. The league is fining Williams even more than what Onwuzurkie got fined too.

He's getting a $14,069 fine for dunking the ball on the crossbar to pay tribute to Calvin Johnson, who used to do that all the time and was in the building to be honored during the game.
